There is one university in Zvolen - a technical one. But it is very different from the ones we are used to under this name.

Key Features

This is a unique institution in terms of profile. The emphasis of study is on nature, but expansion is being made into the artistic, economic, and technical fields. 

Students are taught the following sciences:

• mechanical engineering;
• ecology;
• engineering, etc.

Education at this state university is possible in different languages.

The educational area is thematically designed in such a way that students can receive comprehensive knowledge, which is very important for understanding existing environmental problems. 

Students learn detailed information about trees, about biomass, its production and varieties, about physiological processes, diseases and their diagnosis, mechanical characteristics of plants, etc., and then learn to apply all this knowledge in practice.

Main specialties

Depending on the choice of faculty, after studying you can become a specialist or bachelor in:

• forestry enterprises;
• applied zoology, hunting and forest ecology;
• methods of geoinformation and cartography in forestry;
• features of woodworking.

By the way, specialists in the specifics of woodworking refer not only to carpenters, but also to fairly well-earning designers, craftsmen in wooden structures, fire safety specialists, as well as economists.

A definite plus is that there is no need to take exams upon admission. 

If you have knowledge of Slovak at level B1-B2 (the second option is optimal), you can study without paying.

Tuition in English is available for a fee. 

There is no point in naming the list of documents, because this requirement is adjusted from year to year.
