About the educational institution
The University of Presov offers a wide range of unique study programs not only for local students, but also for foreign ones. The university provides programs that include: education, humanities and social sciences, media communication, economics and management, medicine and health, and other academic disciplines. In addition to classical teaching, innovative teaching and learning methods are used. You can enter the university for most specialties without entrance exams, as long as you study in the Slovak language.
Students can also continue their studies abroad, for example, under the Erasmus + program. A vibrant student life awaits you at the university, as the university is constantly involved in artistic, literary and dramatic activities.

The Faculty of Education is the only faculty in Slovakia that specializes exclusively in the training of educators, primary and secondary school teachers. The Faculty has also established itself in the international context, has concluded bilateral agreements with international institutions, and implements the ERASMUS+ and CEEPUS programs. As part of leisure activities, students have the opportunity to participate in the artistic and cultural activities of the faculty.

The main requirement for admission to the 1st level (bachelor's degree) is complete general secondary education or complete secondary vocational education.
Additional conditions:
• A prerequisite for admission to all standard and combined study programmes in the field of philology and pedagogy is an assessment of the results of secondary school and extracurricular activities. The following are assessed: overall academic performance, results in specialized subjects, participation in olympiads and competitions, state examinations, language certificates, publications and creative achievements, as well as the type of secondary school.
• English language and English-speaking culture / English language and literature / Teaching English in primary schools – CEFR level B2 certificate.
• French language and culture / French language and literature – CEFR level A2 certificate.
• German language and culture / German language and literature – CEFR level A2 certificate.
• Slovak language and culture / Slovak language and literature – CEFR level B2 certificate (required for foreigners).
• Slovak language and literature – mandatory state certification in the Slovak language or B2 CEFR certificate.
• The Media Studies programme requires knowledge of civics or history, Slovak (state certification or B2 certificate) and a foreign language; experience in media work and public presentations are also taken into account.
• For pedagogical programs in music and fine arts, a personal meeting is held, consisting of a creative exam and a comprehensive assessment of academic results.
– For the Musical Arts program, the following are assessed: successful completion of creative exams, previous school results, completion of at least level 1 of a music school or conservatory, acceptable instruments (piano, accordion, violin, cello, guitar, flute, in exceptional cases dulcimer, solo singing, clarinet) and awards received at music and vocal competitions.
– For the Fine Arts program, the following are assessed: successful completion of creative writing exams, previous school results, completion of at least one level of art school, awards in art competitions, and a portfolio of homework.
