About the educational institution

University of St. Cyril and Methodius is one of the best universities in Slovakia at the moment, which allows foreign students to study disciplines such as pedagogy, philosophy, art, media, marketing communications, natural and exact sciences... The goal of the university is to prepare specialists who can make a contribution in the development of Slovak culture, science and education in the context of European and world cultural heritage. 

At the University of St. Cyril and Methodius, free education is possible for foreign students in the Slovak language for bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs. You can enter many specialties without entrance exams.

The main mission and goal of the faculty is to train specialists in social science, pedagogy and philology. Graduates can work in scientific research, mass communications, editorial offices, various publishing houses, cultural centers, museums, archives, schools, government bodies, international companies, as well as translation and interpretation institutions. The best graduates can continue doctoral studies or work in departments as assistants.

The main condition for admission to the 1st level (bachelor) is the presence of complete general secondary education or complete secondary vocational education.

You must provide a certificate of knowledge of the Slovak language level B1 or pass an exam.

Admission without entrance exams*

*For the specialty “Psychology,” a written exam is conducted in the form of a psychological test, a test to test knowledge in psychology, biology, social science, and a review of social sciences.

For the specialty “English language and culture in professional communication” you must provide a certificate of knowledge of the English language level B1.

For each specialty, grades in certain core subjects for the last years of study will be taken into account. The presence of these specialized subjects in the certificate is mandatory. For detailed information, contact our manager.

The faculty cooperates with foreign universities and actively promotes trends in the media society. The main condition for admission to the 1st level (bachelor) is the presence of complete general secondary education or complete secondary vocational education.

Admission without exams to the majors “Media Relations” and “Applied Media Studies”.

Admission without exams to the specialties “Mass Media” and “Marketing Communications” is possible subject to an average score of 1.5 or lower for the Slovak equivalent.

Upon admission, the average score, grades in specialized subjects will be taken into account, and a certificate of knowledge of a foreign language level B1, C2 is required.

Exams:

– For the specialty “Theory of Digital Games”: a written test to test general knowledge and knowledge of media issues, a written test in English, an interview.

– In the specialty “Mass Media” and “Marketing Communications”: a written test to test general knowledge and knowledge of media issues, a written test to test knowledge of a foreign language (English or German).

For the specialty “Social Services and Consulting” it is necessary to provide medical confirmation of the ability to engage in professional practice during study.

A prerequisite is the presence of Unified State Examination grades in the applicant's certificate.

Faculty
health

The Faculty of Health trains physiotherapists, radiologists and other junior medical personnel. In addition to studying, students have the opportunity to engage in scientific activities, participate in professional congresses and take part in foreign practices. The faculty also participates in various social and sporting events. Faculty students will learn to independently diagnose and treat musculoskeletal disorders, and will also help in the treatment of many other diseases. Graduates will be able to work in rehabilitation departments, outpatient centers, spas, fitness studios, and nursing agencies.

Department of Management

The department's educational programs are unique, not only in Slovakia but also abroad. An important feature of training at the Department of Management is the application of theoretical knowledge in practice. The goal of the department is to obtain a complete university education at all three levels of study. In this way, highly qualified graduates are trained who are able to successfully work in management positions and independently engage in business.
