How much does a student need
for living in Slovakia?

After analyzing data on student living expenses, we came to
to the conclusion that on average this amount is approximately 250-350 euros per month
and more. The amount varies depending on the university and city in which
student studying, living conditions in the hostel, from individual
student requests and needs.

Approximate calculation:

Accommodation in the hostel: 65-100 euro/month
Rent an apartment: 1 room 350-400 euros/month, 2 rooms 400-550 euros/month
Internet + other services in the hostel: 4 – 15 euros / month
Transport (buses): 10 euros/month with discount 50%; trains are free throughout the country.
Nutrition: lunch in the dining room/cafe 4-6 euros, if you buy and cook yourself, then 150-200 euros.
Medicine: insurance approximately 45-70 euros/month
Cloth: on average, the cost of clothing in Slovakia is even lower than in the CIS countries. You can compare prices on the website of any store.
Travel and leisure: From Bratislava or Kosice you can travel around Europe economically, even by plane. 

For example: a flight Bratislava-Milan can be found for 15 euros two ways. And you can go to the mountains and travel around Slovakia itself for free.
